History Teacher Location: Caerphilly, Wales Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday 8:30am- 3:10pm) Pay: £172.98 to £200 per day (depending on experience.) A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Caerphilly is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Teacher of History to join their Humanities department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who can bring the past to life and inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of historical events across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential. ECTs/NQTs and experienced teachers are warmly encouraged to apply. About the Role: You will deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons, supporting students to develop strong analytical skills, evaluate historical sources, and build a secure understanding of key historical periods and themes. You will play a vital role in raising attainment and fostering a love of history across all abilities. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Ability to teach History across KS3 and KS4 Strong subject knowledge in History Passion for inspiring young people and promoting historical enquiry Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons Commitment to pupil progress and achievement Desirable: Experience teaching GCSE History Ability to teach KS5 History (not essential) ECT/NQT applications welcome Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales Essential Safeguarding & Compliance: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) Two professional references The School Offers: Supportive and collaborative Humanities department Strong focus on academic achievement and pupil wellbeing Opportunities for professional development Well-resourced teaching materials and curriculum support Positive and inclusive school environmentIf you are an enthusiastic History teacher ready to inspire learners in Caerphilly, we would be delighted to hear from you
