Office Manager - Environmental

Salary: 40,500
This is a permanent, full-time role, 40 hours a week.
St David Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a highly organised Office Manager on behalf of a well-established environmental business based in Weston-super-Mare.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive team within a highly regulated industry, where compliance, accuracy, and strong administration are at the heart of daily operations. Working as part of a small team, you will be integral to the day to day running of the office, communication and a good sense of humour is essential.
This role will support the smooth running of the business across finance, compliance, and HR administration, ensuring records are maintained accurately, processes are followed correctly, and internal systems remain fully compliant.
The successful candidate will report to the Health, Safety and Compliance Manager (line manager) and the Finance Director for finance and payroll matters.
This is a varied role requiring strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to confidently manage multiple responsibilities across payroll, bookkeeping, compliance documentation, and personnel administration.
About You:
• Previous bookkeeping experience is essential
• Confident with payroll inputs and PAYE / NIC routine processing
• Experience maintaining personnel records and HR administration
• Strong understanding of UK GDPR and data protection responsibilities
• Ability to maintain accurate and controlled document filing systems
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working within a regulated and compliance-led environment
• Strong IT and administration skills
• A proactive and reliable team player
• A positive attitude and good sense of humour
Desirable Experience:
• AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant
• Previous experience within a regulated industry
• Familiarity with OTEMS document-control processes
Training Provided:
• Full Environmental Permit and OTEMS induction
• FPP awareness
• Data protection / UK GDPR training
• Right to work check training
• Staff Handbook training including substance misuse, equality, smoking and whistleblowing policies
• Cyber security awareness
• System training across compliance spreadsheets, AnyWastecom and finance systems
