About the Role We are seeking a committed and resilient Cover Supervisor to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across primary and secondary school settings. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain engaged in learning while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities in the absence of teaching staff Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs Promote positive behaviour and de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and support services Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities Follow school safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion policies at all times The Ideal Candidate Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs (essential) Confident managing classroom behaviour in a supportive and consistent manner Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. education, psychology, youth work) desirable but not essential What We Offer The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people Ongoing training and professional development Support from experienced education and SEN professionals Flexible working opportunities Competitive rates of pay All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
