Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: London WC1B Salary: £42,000 – £44,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large on-site engineering team. This is a client-facing role suited to a well-rounded and established engineer with strong mechanical expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving. You will be part of a team of 25 engineers, contributing to the upkeep and smooth operation of a high-profile site. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building systems * Maintain and repair pumps, motors, and associated mechanical equipment * Service and maintain HVAC systems, including AHUs * Undertake plumbing maintenance and repairs * Support maintenance of fire alarm systems and boilers * Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions * Liaise directly with the client, ensuring high standards of service delivery * Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and site procedures * Maintain accurate records of work completed Requirements * Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a commercial or critical environment * Strong all-round mechanical skillset (pumps, motors, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, etc.) * Experience with AHUs and general building services systems * Client-facing experience with strong communication skills * Relevant qualifications: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar * F-Gas certification (desirable/required depending on system involvement) * Ability to work independently and as part of a large team Package & Benefits * Salary between £42,000 – £44,000 per annum * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Overtime opportunities available * Opportunity to work within a prestigious and historic environment * Stable, long-term contract within a well-established team
