1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Middleton Location: Middleton, Greater Manchester Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience) Aspire People are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Middleton. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a Year 1 pupil with autism and additional complex needs. You'll be working closely with the pupil to assist in their learning, emotional development, and everyday classroom activities. Key Responsibilities: -Offer dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day -Assist with classwork and learning tasks assigned by the teacher -Help foster communication, social skills, and emotional regulation -Support the pupil during transitions and maintain routine structure -Provide personal care when necessary -Follow and implement strategies set by the teacher and SENCO -Track progress and offer feedback to school staff -Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons -Adhere to safeguarding policies at all times Essential Requirements: -Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification -Experience working in a UK primary school -Experience supporting children with autism and additional needs -Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks -A calm, patient, and nurturing approach -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one -Right to work in the UK Desirable Experience: -Experience in a 1:1 support role -Autism-specific training or expertise -Team Teach or behaviour management training -Good understanding of SEN support strategies What the School Offers: -A supportive and welcoming SEN team -A friendly and inclusive school environment -Ongoing support from experienced leadership -Long-term position with potential for extension -A role that allows you to make a real difference in a child's education Apply Now!
