A large, high-performing and heavily oversubscribed secondary school in the London Borough of Newham is seeking to appoint an ambitious and intellectually confident Teacher of Drama to join a successful and well-established department.
Drama is a highly valued subject within the curriculum. It is taught to all students at Key Stage 3, with strong uptake at GCSE (Pearson Edexcel). The department is further enriched by an extensive programme of productions and extracurricular activities, playing a key role in developing students' confidence, articulation, and cultural awareness.
The Role
We are looking for a teacher who:
Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Drama
Can deliver consistently high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4
Maintains high expectations of all students, both academically and behaviourally
Is committed to continual improvement and professional development
Contributes to the wider life of the school, including productions and enrichment activitiesThis post is suitable for both Early Career Teachers and more experienced colleagues. For the right candidate, a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) will be available to support additional leadership within the department.
