Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Role Purpose The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the commissioning, service, repair, and rapid response support of Bender Medical IT systems (IPS), Theatre Control Panels, operating lights, medical tables, turnkey theatre solutions, and Bender Industrial products. Working across healthcare and industrial environments, including NHS Trusts and private medical facilities, the role ensures systems are installed, tested, and maintained to the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities * Commissioning and servicing of medical IT systems, surgeons control panels, theatre operating lights, medical tables and pendants * Servicing 3rd party equipment as above * Forming part of a call out system and responding within required timescales * Logging all cases and call outs when working out of hours * Representing Bender UK in the best light possible through delivering excellent customer service. * This role will be on site dealing with end customers, contractors and hospital staff * Completing job specific risk assessments and method statements * Support the Industrial Team for on-site technical commissioning and servicing as required * Provide remote service monitoring and data analysis Providing onsite training to customers on Bender supplied equipment * Attending site meetings as required * Uploading programmes on completion of projects * Working closely with all departments within Bender UK, promoting cross functional working and one team approach What good looks like at Bender UK * Dedication to delivering safe, reliable systems that protect people, patients, and infrastructure. * Excellence in technical workmanship, accuracy, and first‑time fix performance. * Trust, built through professionalism, reliability, and confidence on customer sites. * Teamwork in action, working collaboratively with engineers, service teams, and wider colleagues. * A proactive approach to problem‑solving, learning, and maintaining high technical standards. Skills & Experience Essential * Strong time management, planning, and prioritisation skills * Qualified Electrician, 18th Edition. * Electrotechnical certification scheme (ECS) * JIB Gold Card * SSSTS Card would be preferable * Clean driving license * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Customer‑focused approach with strong attention to detail. Desirable * Experience working within NHS or healthcare environments. * Experience with Medical IT (IPS), surgeons control panels, theatre operating lights and medical tables. * UPS systems, Auto change over systems and PLC’s.
