Job Title:  Accounts Assistant Location: Coventry Salary: £25,000-£30,000 plus bonus Type: Permanent Company Overview Our client is a well-established accountancy practice with a great reputation. They work with a broad mix of clients, from sole traders to growing SMEs, and are known for being approachable, reliable, and supportive both to clients and their team. Role Overview We’re working with our client to find an Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is a good opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in practice, with exposure to a variety of clients and day-to-day accounting work. Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients Processing sales and purchase invoices Bank reconciliations Preparing and submitting VAT returns Maintaining accurate and organised financial records Liaising with clients to request information and resolve queries Supporting accountants with year-end preparation where needed About You We're looking for a proactive, driven individual who thrives in fast-paced environments. Requirements: Previous experience within practice Confident using accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) Good understanding of VAT and general bookkeeping processes Strong attention to detail Comfortable speaking with clients and building working relationships Able to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks A reliable and practical approach to your work What's in It for You?
