Green Engineer

Trainee Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Apprentice Pathway) Location: York Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating double days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm) Salary: Competitive, with funded NVQ Level 3 A well-established food manufacturing business in York is looking to support an up and coming engineer through a structured development pathway, working towards NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Engineering. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with some hands-on experience who is keen to build a long-term career in engineering within a supportive, well-invested environment. The role: Support planned and reactive maintenance across a busy production site Assist with fault finding on mechanical and electrical equipment Work alongside experienced engineers to develop multi-skilled capability Support equipment installations, upgrades and continuous improvement activity Ensure all work is carried out in line with food safety and hygiene standardsWhat we’re looking for: Some engineering or maintenance experience, ideally within food or FMCG Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems Keen to develop into a fully qualified multi-skilled engineer Positive attitude, reliable and willing to learn Flexible to work shifts and support productionWhat’s on offer: Fully funded NVQ Level 3 and structured development plan Ongoing mentoring from experienced engineers Clear progression into a qualified multi-skilled role Stable, long-term opportunity within a growing food manufacturing businessA strong opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who wants the right support, training and environment to develop properly
