About the role
CNC Joinery Machinist
Location:Basildon
Salary: £40,000 per annum (£18.25ph depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Our client is a leading commercial fit-out and bespoke joinery manufacturer. They are seeking an experienced CNC Joinery Machinist to produce high-quality bespoke joinery components using CNC machinery and traditional workshop equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture bespoke joinery components using CNC machinery to tight tolerances
Interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and joinery production information
Program, set and operate CNC woodworking machines (Homag)
Ensure all joinery components meet quality and specification requirements
Work with hardwood, softwood, veneered panels, MDF, and laminate materials
Carry out accurate machining for cabinet making, bespoke furniture, and fitted joinery elements
Prepare, collate and quality check finished components for assembly and dispatch
Identify and report design, production or machining issues
Maintain safe handling and protection of materials throughout production
Support continuous improvement in joinery manufacturing processes
Assist with general workshop production tasks when requiredMachines and Software

Proven experience in CNC joinery machining within a workshop environment
Strong ability to programme, set and operate CNC woodworking machinery
Background in bespoke joinery, cabinet making, or commercial fit-out manufacturing
Ability to read and interpret detailed joinery drawings and cutting lists
Strong understanding of joinery construction methods and assembly processes
Experience using workshop machinery including saws, planers, sanders, and thicknessers
High attention to detail with strong quality control focus
Problem-solving ability and ability to work to deadlines
Good communication and teamworking skillsQualifications
Relevant qualification in bench joinery, cabinet making, or machine woodworking (or equivalent experience)Benefits
