Location: Remote (Candidate based in Southwest England)
Salary: £42,000£45,000 DOE
Our client provides premium building service solutions to food manufacturers and distributors in the South-West. The business also operates a renewable division that provides low-carbon heating and cooling solutions to commercial and domestic customers.
They are seeking skilled Install Technicians to join a growing Exeter-based engineering business. This is a site-based role working on a variety of projects, often within the food manufacturing sector, delivering hands-on mechanical installations in project teams or individually as needed.
Role Overview
As an Install Technician, you will work across mechanical works, includingbut not limited torefrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, fabric, groundwork, and general fitting tasks. These functions are desirable, not essential, and candidates with experience in some or all areas are encouraged to apply. You will be part of a project team focused on delivering high-quality workmanship, working alongside subcontractors and liaising with site leads and, occasionally, clients.

Requirements
Essential:
CSCS Card required for site access
Full UK clean driving license
Ability to read & interpret technical drawings and P&IDs
Good written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to work on-site and travel regionally or nationally
Desirable:
IPAF, Working at Heights, and FGAS certifications
Recognised NVQ Level in Mechanical Engineering or relevant apprenticeship
Awareness of CDM Regulations
Experience using app-based job management systems
Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, fabric, groundworks, and general fitting
First responder or First Aid at Work certification
The Role
Mechanical Execution: Installing machinery such as refrigeration equipment, pumps, pipework, heating & ventilation systems, and small groundworks activities
Safety: Following site Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Technical Interpretation: Reading and interpreting technical drawings and P&IDs to ensure installations meet specifications
Project Liaison: Communicating with clients when required, reporting progress to site lead/line managers, and resolving technical issues on-site
Project Completion: Assisting with the collation of technical documentation for future servicing and project sign-off
