Senior Civil Engineer (Contract) 📍 Fully Remote / Hybrid 💰 Competitive Hourly Rate (Project-Specific) 📅 Project-by-Project Engagement ⏱️ Flexible Working Arrangements Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects on a project-by-project basis. This role is ideal for an experienced contractor who can work independently, take ownership of technical delivery and provide support across all stages of design, from feasibility through to planning, detailed design and technical approvals. Projects span a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, data centres, restoration and regeneration schemes. Responsibilities Produce drainage and infrastructure designs for a range of development projects. Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and drainage strategies. Design surface water and foul water drainage systems. Undertake drainage modelling and hydraulic calculations. Design highways, levels and development infrastructure. Prepare earthworks, cut and fill assessments and site level designs. Produce technical reports and supporting design documentation. Coordinate with clients, architects, planners and multidisciplinary design teams. Support planning applications and technical approval submissions. Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards and local authority requirements. Software Experience Required Civil 3D Causeway Flow MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage Site 3D AutoCAD Experience Required Proven experience delivering infrastructure and drainage designs within a consultancy environment. Strong understanding of UK development infrastructure design. Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies. Working knowledge of SuDS design principles. Experience securing technical approvals including: S104 S38 S278 S106 Experience across residential, commercial, industrial, data centre and regeneration projects. Ability to manage projects independently and deliver work to agreed deadlines. Project Types Projects may include: Residential developments Commercial developments Industrial schemes Data centres Mixed-use developments Regeneration and restoration projects Education facilities Infrastructure and highways projects Remuneration Rates are agreed on a project-by-project basis and will vary depending on project size, complexity, scope of works and programme requirements.
