Senior Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Scarborough. You will be involved in the design and development of mechanical systems from initial concept through to detailed design and manufacture. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a technically challenging role where you can take ownership of your designs. This is a high-level mechanical design position for an engineer with proven experience designing gearboxes or winches and a strong background in complex mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities * Design and develop gearboxes, winches and associated mechanical systems * Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks * Design mechanical components including gears, shafts, housings, cases and assemblies * Develop and improve existing mechanical designs * Carry out engineering calculations and basic analysis * Produce BOMs, drawings and technical documentation * Consider manufacturing, tolerances, materials and assembly throughout the design process Essential: * Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering or a related discipline * Proven professional experience designing either gearboxes or winches Important Information This is a fully site-based position in Scarborough. You must be willing and able to travel to the site and work in person Monday–Friday. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
