Medical-sector experience would be advantageous, but not essential" About the Job Working alongside the Finance Coordinator, the Finance Assistant will provide support across the day-to-day finance function, helping to maintain accurate financial records and ensure payments, reconciliations and insurance claims are processed efficiently and on time. This is a junior role with a clear training and development pathway, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their finance experience within a professional healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Accounts & Payments Process patient payments accurately and efficiently Process and record supplier invoices Reconcile accounts using Xero Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Manage petty cash and ensure transactions are accurately recorded Insurance Claims Prepare and submit insurance claims within required deadlines Monitor claims and follow up on outstanding items where required Liaise with relevant parties to resolve queries or discrepancies Finance Administration Provide general administrative support to the finance function Assist the Finance Coordinator with day-to-day accounting tasks Ensure financial information is accurate and up to date Work across various patient-management and laboratory software systems Previous Experience Previous experience in a finance, accounts administration or similar role Experience processing payments and invoices Understanding of basic accounting and reconciliation processes Experience using Xero or Sage would be advantageous Medical or healthcare-sector experience would be beneficial Experience processing insurance claims would be advantageous Strong IT skills and confidence learning new software systems Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Professional communication skills and a patient-focused approach Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team For further information on this opportunity or if you are considering the next step in your career, get in touch with Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.
