SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary Location: Hillingdon, London Salary: £100 – £101.10 per day Contract: Full Time | Temporary | Long-Term Start Date: June 2026 Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable. About the Role Teach Now is working with a welcoming and community-focused secondary school in Hillingdon to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students across Key Stages 3 to 5, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. You will play an important role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, contributing to both their academic progress and personal development in a structured and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs • Work closely with teaching staff to implement tailored learning strategies • Support students with communication, learning, and behavioural needs • Assist in delivering and monitoring EHCPs and individual support plans • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in lessons • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Requirements • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally within a school or similar setting • A patient, resilient approach with the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team • Confidence in supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs • A proactive, adaptable attitude and a clear commitment to inclusive education Desirable (not essential): • Experience supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, or SEMH • Background in education, care, or youth work • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) About the Setting This is a smaller secondary school with a strong emphasis on pastoral care and student wellbeing.
