SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham B16
Day Rate: £(Apply online only)
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 01/09/2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school's specialist SEN provision in Birmingham from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and those accessing provision through Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Responsibilities:
Support pupils within a specialist SEN provision setting.
Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning activities.
Assist with EHCP targets and learning outcomes.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
Build positive relationships with pupils and families.What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
Understanding of Autism, SLCN and SEMH needs.
A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
