Senior Quantity Surveyor – Edinburgh

I’m currently supporting one of Scotland’s leading Tier 1 contractors in the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor , based in Edinburgh .

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation, a secure forward order book, and a varied portfolio of high-profile projects across Scotland.

The Project Portfolio

You’ll be involved in the commercial delivery of a diverse range of live and upcoming projects, including:

• 45m major refurbishment & fit-out project (Edinburgh city centre)

• 20m warehousing / industrial development

• 65m new-build education facility

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with site teams, commercial managers and key stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:

• Full commercial management of live projects

• Procurement and management of subcontract packages

• Valuations, CVRs, forecasting and reporting

• Managing variations and change control

• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff

• Working collaboratively with project and delivery teams to protect commercial outcomes

About You

• Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment

• Experience delivering large-scale new build, refurbishment or fit-out projects

• Strong understanding of commercial processes, cost control and subcontract management

• Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external stakeholders

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
