Bracken Hill School is a specialist school committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for children and young people with Special Educational Needs. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team and help our pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students with a range of additional learning, communication, and behavioural needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a safe and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
Help pupils achieve their individual learning and EHCP targets.
Promote positive behaviour and support students' social, emotional, and personal development.
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Support students with varying communication, sensory, and learning needs.
Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all children and young people.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to remain calm and positive when supporting pupils with challenging behaviours.
A commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to succeed.
An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
