Smart Building Installation Engineer

Smart Building Installation Engineer London (Zones 1–2) Up to £40,000 Full-time We’re hiring a Structured Cabling Engineer to join a leading smart building technology provider, delivering high-quality infrastructure across commercial offices, studios, and data centres. This is a hands-on role focused on copper & fibre installations, with the opportunity to build experience across wider smart building technologies including IoT, Wi-Fi, AV, and security systems. You’ll be working on varied projects across multiple sites, supporting full lifecycle delivery from installation through to maintenance and fault finding. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate and test copper (Cat5e/6/6A) and fibre (OS1/2, OM3/4/5) cabling Deliver structured cabling projects across commercial environments Install containment (tray, basket, trunking, conduit) Rack, stack and patch network equipment (switches, routers, servers) Install devices including Wi-Fi APs, IoT sensors, AV and security systems Test using Fluke equipment and ensure compliance with standards Support commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding Complete documentation and follow H&S proceduresRequirements 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling / ICT infrastructure Strong copper & fibre installation experience ECS/CSCS card Relevant certification (BICSI, CNet or equivalent) Full UK driving licenceAbout You Hands-on and able to work independently Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Comfortable working across multiple sites Keen to develop within smart building technologiesPackage Salary up to £40,000 40 hours per week Overtime / occasional weekends Ongoing training and development INDP
