SRUC's School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences (SVMB), the first new School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland for 150 years, was founded on the organisation's established, high-profile expertise across this sector.
SVMB is a natural evolution of SRUC's established, interprofessional and highly acclaimed expertise in Veterinary and Animal Biosciences. The Opportunity:
The Practice Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective educational and commercial operation of the Small Animal Teaching Clinic. Working under the direction of the Clinical Director, the postholder will oversee key business functions including clinic operations, HR coordination, procurement, client administration, and marketing. They will ensure that all operational processes are implemented correctly and support the smooth running of the practice.
A core element of the role involves providing strong administrative leadership. The Practice Manager will lead, support, and motivate the administrative team, fostering a high-performing and service-focused environment. They will also monitor and report on administrative performance metrics to support continuous improvement across the clinic.
The role will additionally have a significant focus on preparatory work related to the opening of a new practice, ensuring that systems, processes, staffing, and operational frameworks are in place ahead of launch.
Minimum Qualifications:
The post holder must hold qualifications at SCQF Level 6, or equivalent, in both English and Mathematics. They must also have previous experience working within a veterinary practice or clinical environment.
