About the role

Support Worker

Pay rate: £15.00 Monday to Friday, Weekends £17 per an hour (Weekly or Monthly pay)

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work one shift each week, alternative Monday and Saturdays. You will also be expected to provide cover for annual leave when needed.

Were looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a small, close-knit team in Chorley, providing 1:1 support to a creative and motivated individual with physical and communication disabilities.

They live with bilateral dystonic cerebral palsy, affecting all four limbs, alongside cognitive, social, and communication challenges.They experience regular spasms and have a fixed posture, including positioning of the feet posture and equines (feet turning inward and downward), while maintaining full range of motion in other joints.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support someone who is creative, driven, and keen to grow their independence.

Your Role Will Include

  • Supporting mobility, posture, and positioning
  • Encouraging and prompting daily routines, including food and drink
  • Providing behavioural and communication prompts to support social interaction
  • Assisting with college attendance, learning activities, and creative pursuits
  • Supporting personal development, confidence, and independence at home and in the community
  • They are studying song writing, and requires on going support with his time at University

Experience and skills of Support Worker:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Confidence driving the individuals vehicle (essential)
  • A genuine interest in supporting someone to live a full, creative, and independent life
  • Patience, empathy, and a respectful understanding of physical and cognitive disabilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing daily needs and schedules
  • A positive, encouraging, and person-centred approach

Previous experience is valued, but attitude, reliability, and the right mindset are just as important.
