Junior Engineer

Junior Engineer Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Hours: 48 hours per week Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday / Tuesday–Saturday Location: On-site – driving licence and own transport required due to location Are you an early-career Engineer looking to build your experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re recruiting for a Junior Engineer to join an established engineering team, providing hands-on support across production equipment, maintenance and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent and is ready to take the next step in their engineering career. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, developing your mechanical and electrical knowledge while gaining exposure to a busy manufacturing operation. The Role As a Junior Engineer, you will: * Support planned and reactive maintenance across production and manufacturing equipment. * Assist with mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs. * Help diagnose equipment issues and minimise production downtime. * Work alongside experienced engineers on maintenance and improvement projects. * Support preventative maintenance activities and equipment inspections. * Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency. * Develop your engineering knowledge through practical, hands-on experience. * Work closely with production and engineering colleagues in a fast-paced environment. What We're Looking For * Recently completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification. * Good foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering. * Experience or a strong interest in food manufacturing, FMCG, industrial engineering or manufacturing. * Practical, hands-on approach to engineering and fault finding. * Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. * Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. * Genuine interest in engineering, maintenance and continuous improvement. * Full UK driving licence and own transport are essential due to the site location.
