As a Computer Studies Teacher, you will help students develop the technical knowledge, digital fluency, and computational skills they need to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world. Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering areas such as programming, data representation, networks, and online safety Build students' computational thinking and logical problem-solving skills progressively throughout the year Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE assessments and support their broader digital literacy Assess student understanding regularly and provide targeted, constructive feedback Tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of learners across the full ability range Stay current with developments in technology and bring relevant, real-world context into lessons Support departmental planning and contribute positively to the wider school community Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification A degree in Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, or a related field Experience teaching Computer Studies or Computing at secondary level is desirable Strong subject knowledge across programming languages, hardware, software, and digital systems The ability to break down complex concepts and make them accessible and engaging A proactive, student-focused, and professional approach to the classroom An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
