Delivery Driver – Medication Distribution (Healthcare Logistics)
Location: Satellite Dispensary – Dudley DY6, West Midlands
Hours: 9:00am–5:00pm (Monday–Friday)
Breaks: 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Contract Type: Full-time and Part-time available
Salary: £12.71 to start with uplift depending on experience

Role Purpose
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of medicines and healthcare products to registered customers. This role plays a key part in supporting patient care by ensuring all deliveries are completed in line with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), legal requirements, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Transport & Delivery
Deliver medicines and healthcare products safely and in line with GDP standards
Handle controlled drugs and sensitive items securely and compliantly
Ensure accurate documentation, signatures, and full audit trail for all deliveries
Load and check parcels against delivery routes to ensure accuracy
Return undelivered or rejected items in line with procedures
Vehicle & Route Management
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled times
Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly
Maintain a clean, secure, and roadworthy vehicle at all times
Support basic vehicle care and maintenance reporting
Compliance & Governance
Follow all SOPs relating to medicines transport, including cold chain requirements
Adhere to GDP standards, transport regulations, and health & safety procedures
Maintain confidentiality and patient safety at all times
Report delays, incidents, or discrepancies immediately
Communication & Teamwork
Communicate professionally with customers, pharmacy teams, and internal staff
Provide updates on delivery progress or any issues encountered
Support wider operations when required, including loading and route preparation
Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance feedback
Person Specification
Essential
Full UK driving licence with a clean record
Must live within a 10 mile radius of DY6
Reliable, punctual, and detail-focused
Ability to handle medicines safely and follow strict procedures
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and follow SOPs
Desirable
Experience in pharmaceutical delivery, healthcare logistics, or courier work
Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
Understanding of controlled drugs handling and cold chain processes
Familiarity with NHS or healthcare environments
Additional Information
Full training provided, including GDP and compliance procedures
Role involves manual handling and lifting of parcels
DBS check may be required depending on client requirements
