Teaching Assistant
Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31)
Pay: £500 - £525 per week
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term (Temp-to-Perm)Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive junior school in Northfield to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support within a Year 4 class. This role has a strong focus on behaviour support, working closely with pupils who require additional support to regulate emotions and engage positively with learning.
This is a long-term opportunity for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Support teaching and learning within a Year 4 classroom
Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN and behavioural needs
Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Deliver small group interventions to support learning and progress
Build positive relationships to support pupils' social and emotional development
Requirements:
Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in a primary or junior school
Skills:
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Experience supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs
Confidence delivering small group interventions
Understanding of the KS2 curriculum
Desirable:
Training in behaviour management approaches (e.g. Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA, or similar)
