Down £45k+ The Purchasing Manager is responsible for procuring goods, materials, and services required by the engineering department, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met. The role focusses on supplier management, cost control, supply chain continuity, and aligning procurement activities with production objectives. Role: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimise procurement processes, reduce costs, and maintain supply chain reliability. Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers, ensuring quality, pricing, delivery, and contractual compliance standards are met. Ensure production schedules are not impacted by material shortages by planning ahead, identifying potential delays, and implementing contingency plans. Manage the purchasing process, including purchase orders, expenditure tracking, and inventory oversight. Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or operational requirements. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to align procurement activities with project and manufacturing needs. Assess and mitigate supply chain risks through supplier diversification, contingency planning, and business continuity measures.
