Legal Secretary

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site, Legal Secretary role based in York. The Legal Secretary will provide administrative and secretarial support to a single fee earner who is an experienced, qualified Licensed Conveyancer with a busy caseload of solely residential conveyancing.

Daily tasks include all elements of administrative support for residential conveyancing, from file opening to completion, handling telephone and email inquiries, liaising with clients and external contacts, and ensuring accurate filing and data entry in our case management system, LEAP.

We are looking to place a career legal secretary who enjoys working closely with one fee earner and building relationships with clients.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the conveyancing process.
• Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and reviewing legal correspondence and forms.
• Strong clerical skills, including accurate typing, filing, data entry, and document management.
• Confident in written and verbal communication skills and a professional client-facing manner.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Competence with office software (principally outlook and word) and legal case management systems.
• Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment is essential.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
