Are you an experienced Release, Change, or Service Transition professional looking for an opportunity to shape and improve enterprise-wide release management practices?
A leading organisation within the Healthcare/Retail sector is seeking an Environments & Release Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and governance of releases across a complex technology landscape spanning both cloud and on-premise services.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring technology changes are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to business operations. You'll work closely with technical teams, project stakeholders, service managers, and third-party suppliers to ensure environments are available, releases are controlled, and deployments are delivered successfully.
The Role
As the Environments & Release Lead, you will:
Own and manage the release calendar across multiple technology platforms.
Coordinate environment availability across Development, Test, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
Lead release planning and deployment readiness activities.
Review implementation plans, testing evidence, and release readiness criteria.
Chair and contribute to Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
Identify and mitigate release, deployment, and environment risks.
Coordinate go-live activities and ensure smooth operational handover.
Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of release and environment management processes. We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Proven experience in Release Management, Change Management, Environment Management, or Service Transition.
Experience coordinating releases across cloud and on-premise environments.
Strong understanding of release, change, and service management best practices.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience working with technical teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
Strong planning, governance, and risk management capabilities.
Experience supporting CAB processes and major deployment activities.
Desirable
ITIL knowledge or certification.
Experience within large-scale or complex enterprise environments.
Continuous improvement and process optimisation experience.
Understanding of incident, problem, and continuity management.
