You will be joining an evolving agile team that includes Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Quality Assurance, and fellow Engineers.You will work in an open, respectful, and collaborative environment that values transparency, continuous improvement, and learning, while playing a key role in designing, building, and delivering scalable, high-quality software. You will also mentor others and contribute to engineering best practices across the team.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver high-quality, scalable software using modern front-end and back-end frameworksLead by example in applying sound engineering principles and best practicesActively participate in agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvementConduct and guide high-quality code reviews, including complex changesTake ownership of deploying code across environments and releasing to productionCollaborate closely with QA Engineers to define and improve testing strategies (unit, integration, functional)Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues to improve reliability and observabilityMentor and support engineers across the team, fostering knowledge sharingEnsure secure coding practices and respond to security incidents when requiredCommunicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhat will you need to succeed?Essential SkillsProficiency in at least two of the following: JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, or other .NET languagesStrong understanding of design patterns and hexagonal architectureHands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs and using API documentation toolsSolid knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databasesExcellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical conceptsProven experience mentoring or guiding other engineersDesirable SkillsExperience working with microservices, Docker, and KubernetesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and delivery practicesExposure to feature toggling, A/B testing, and release strategiesUnderstanding of security best practices and vulnerability identificationExperience contributing to architectural design and system-level thinkingWhat do you get in return? 25 days annual leave rising to 30 5% pension after probationState of the art offices Access to a range of benefits via My Benefits World Free eye care cover Life Assurance Cycle to Work Scheme EAP (Employee assistance programme) Quarterly Tes Socials Access to an extensive Learning and Development menu Who are Tes?Tes is a global Edtech leader, on a mission to empower schools and educators to deliver impactful, inspiring learning experiences worldwide.
