Role Description The Arboriculture Contract Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sefton, responsible for overseeing the delivery of vegetation management contracts across railway, utility, and domestic environments. Day-to-day, this role includes planning and coordinating arboriculture and vegetation works, managing job schedules, allocating resources, and supervising field teams to ensure safe and efficient operations. The Contract Manager will liaise with clients, prepare work plans and progress reports, monitor contract performance against KPIs, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and health and safety regulations. The role also involves cost control, supporting tender and bid preparation, resolving operational issues on site, and promoting best practices in arboriculture and vegetation management. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and continuous improvement of processes will be key aspects of this position.
Qualifications
- Strong background in arboriculture or vegetation management, with experience managing contracts or projects in commercial, railway, utility, or domestic settings.
- Proven skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and workforce coordination, with the ability to foster a professional, safety-focused work culture.
- Experience in planning and scheduling works, resource allocation, and contract administration, including monitoring performance and managing budgets.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work relevant to arboriculture and vegetation management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client liaison, stakeholder management, and report writing.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to make sound decisions on site.
- Relevant industry certifications or qualifications (e.g., arboriculture, forestry, utility arboriculture, or related discipline) are highly beneficial.
- Full, valid driver’s license and willingness to work on site across various locations within Sefton and surrounding areas. xwzovoh
- Previous experience in a disciplined, high-performance environment (e.g., military or similar) is an advantage but not required.
