Technical Lifting Manager

Are you a highly experienced Appointed Person ready to take technical ownership of lifting operations across a major data centre project in Norway?
Join an established international contractor delivering technically complex projects across the data centre, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. You'll act as the project-wide authority for lifting operations, setting the standards and ensuring every lift is properly engineered, planned and controlled.
This is a senior, planning-focused position rather than a hands-on Lifting Supervisor role. You'll review, challenge and approve lifting arrangements developed by specialist contractors, ensuring crane selection, sequencing and logistics are fully coordinated with the wider construction programme.
You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial site setup and major civil works through to structural construction and MEP installation.
Your role will include: Developing and maintaining the project-wide lifting strategy Acting as the technical authority and Lead Appointed Person for lifting operations Reviewing, challenging and approving subcontractor lift plans, RAMS and safe systems of work Assessing routine, complex and critical lifting operations Calculating and verifying loads, weights, radii, crane capacities and configurations Coordinating tower cranes, mobile cranes, crawler cranes, gantries and specialist lifting equipment
The ideal Technical Lifting Operations Manager will have: Extensive experience as an Appointed Person or Technical Lifting Manager Experience providing project-wide governance for lifting operations on major construction or engineering projects Experience within data centres, industrial facilities, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, logistics or other high-hazard environments Norwegian or EU/EEA working rights Willingness to relocate and work permanently on site in Skien
