The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced P6 Planner / Planning Engineer to join a leading global consultancy delivering major infrastructure programmes across the UK.
Working within a high-performing Project Controls team, you will support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects across sectors including water, utilities, transportation, energy and defence. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile programmes while developing your career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and update Level 1 and Level 2 project schedules using Primavera P6.
Produce regular progress reports and schedule analysis to support project delivery.
Work closely with project teams to ensure planning requirements are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Attend project and programme planning meetings, providing planning expertise and schedule updates.
Identify, manage and monitor project milestones and interface activities.
Support planning and scheduling processes required to manage contracts and contractor programmes.
Monitor programme performance and support reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date programme and schedule information.
Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements relating to planning and programme submissions.
Assist the project team in managing key commitments and programme risks.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
Previous planning experience within major infrastructure projects, ideally in sectors such as water, utilities, rail, highways, energy or defence.
Strong experience using Primavera P6.
Good understanding of project planning, scheduling, progress reporting and programme controls.
Knowledge of NEC contracts and programme management principles.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
