Mechanical Design Engineer - Permanenrt role Salary £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + Overtime + Bonus We are a well-established Engineering company based at a modern office and factory, boasting a customer base that includes some of the largest and most recognisable businesses in the world. Due to expansion we are seeking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to undertake Product Support, Design and Development. Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, the appointed Mechanical Design Engineer will: * Produce 2D & 3D Drawings that meet technical product specification standards. * Calculate geometric tolerances. * As each project is bespoke, the Mechanical Design Engineer will liaise with customers directly and through the Project Sales Teams to identify exact requirements. * The Mechanical Design Engineer will also be responsible for material selection, estimating costs for machine manufacture. * Design for CNC manufacture * Correct highlighted flaws in designs and communicate with the manufacturing team to engineer pre-production prototypes. * Design a wide variety of machinery and systems including: Handling Systems, Filling Machines, Dosing Equipment, Extruders, Cooling Tunnels and Mechanical Cutting Machinery, Ultrasonic Cutting Systems. * There will be an opportunity to visit sites to supervise machine installations, and this could include Overseas travel. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate the following: * At least 18 months experience in the use of 2D & 3D design software packages, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Vault and Inventor. * Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of geometrical tolerances. * Experience in the design of High Value Capital Equipment.
