Automatic Door Engineer
East & North Manchester (field-based)
£18-22 per hour (full time permanent contract + overtime)
Webber Hughes are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join a growing national business specialising in automatic and manual doors, gates, barriers, and shutters.
Headquartered in Tameside, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled field-based engineer looking to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of automatic door technology. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ industry experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.

The Role
This is a varied and fast paced role covering East and North Manchester, involving a combination of:
* Installation of automatic door systems
* Planned preventative maintenance
* Reactive repairs and emergency call-outs
* Work schedules for installations and maintenance are typically issued weekly, with emergency call-outs allocated as required on a daily basis.
The workload is split approximately as follows:
* 70% Automatic Doors
* 20% Automatic Gates
* 10% Industrial Doors/Shutters
The role involves both indoor and outdoor work across a wide range of commercial and industrial sites.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Overtime expected: 10+ hours per week
The Person
The ideal candidate will be technically capable, reliable, and motivated, with the ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a close-knit engineering team.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has 2 years’ field-based experience within the automatic door industry
* Possesses a strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Demonstrates a proactive “can-do” approach
* Is keen to stay up to date with the latest industry technologies
* Can deliver excellent customer service and represent the business professionally
