Production Planner
Location: Aberdeen Area
Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Sector: Defence Manufacturing
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Planner to join a leading organisation within the defence manufacturing sector. Working as part of the Supply Chain team, you will support the Head of Planning to ensure production schedules, material availability, and customer delivery requirements are achieved across a complex manufacturing environment.
This role would suit a planner who enjoys working at the heart of the supply chain, coordinating with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and operations teams to keep production running efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and communicate production plans in line with customer demand and operational requirements.
Work closely with the Head of Planning and wider Supply Chain team to balance capacity, materials, and production priorities.
Monitor material availability and liaise with Procurement to mitigate supply chain risks.
Manage work orders and production schedules through the ERP system.
Analyse demand, inventory levels, and capacity constraints to support effective decision-making.
Identify potential bottlenecks and proactively implement recovery plans.
Collaborate with manufacturing and warehouse teams to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery performance.
Produce planning reports and KPIs to support operational reviews.Candidate Requirements
Previous experience in a Production Planner, Supply Chain Planner, Materials Planner, Demand Planner, or Manufacturing Planner role.
ERP system experience is essential.
Experience using Glovia is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and planning systems.What's on Offer?
