About the role

We are recruiting an Interim Repairs Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Northampton, supporting property services across the local region on a 6-month contract.As an Interim Repairs Surveyor , you will be responsible for managing and resolving property repair issues across housing stock, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and safe for residents. This is a great opportunity to join a busy, customer-focused organisation and make an immediate impact.Whats on offer:Rate: £35 £40 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)Contract: 6-month interim assignment (potential for extension)Working pattern: Full-time (3740 hours per week)About the Company:Well-established Social Housing groupLarge portfolio of residential properties across Northampton and surrounding areasCommitted to delivering safe, high-quality homes and excellent tenant servicesKey responsibilities:Conduct detailed property inspections, including condition surveys and defect diagnosisPrepare technical reports and schedules of workManage repair cases from initial inspection through to completionOversee works relating to general repairs, damp, mould, and structural issuesPrepare specifications and manage contractors to deliver remedial worksEnsure all works comply with legislation, regulations, and health & safety standardsLiaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teamsMonitor progress of works and ensure timely completionMaintain accurate records and documentationSupport wider property services as required in your role as a Repairs SurveyorAbout you:Proven experience in a similar role within Social Housing or property servicesStrong knowledge of building maintenance and repairsRelevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)Excellent understanding of building pathology, including damp and general defectsExperience managing contractors and overseeing worksStrong report writing and organisational skillsGood understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirementsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently and manage a varied caseload as a Repairs SurveyorStrong IT skills, including Microsoft OfficeThis role would suit an experienced Repairs Surveyor available at short notice, looking for an interim opportunity within a reputable Social Housing organisation.
