The Role
As Assistant Finance Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller with the production of accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring strong financial control across all areas of business. You will assist in month-end, year-end, and budgeting processes, while also providing valuable insight to drive performance and efficiency.
What will you be doing?
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
* Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain robust financial control.
* Ensure accuracy across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow statements, and explain material variances to budget and prior year.
* Assist with year-end statutory accounts, including audit preparation and liaison with external auditors.
* Support the completion of annual budgets and reforecasts, working closely with senior management.
* Provide assistance to the purchase and sales ledger teams with ad hoc queries.
* Review and monitor the daily cashflow forecast.
* Support wider Finance projects
What we want from you?
* Strong numerical and communication skills
* Proficient in all Microsoft suites including Excel
* Ability to thrive in a fast paced setting, with self motivation and ability to prioritise workload according
* Starting or progressing through a professional financial qualification
* Relevant experience is a previous financial accountant role
