Bookkeeper

TPF Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded, multisited firm of chartered accountants in its search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Melksham office. This is a straightforward and varied bookkeeping position, working with a portfolio of owner managed businesses across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and providing a reliable, high quality service to clients. Responsibilities will include: Completing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers Processing bank transactions and completing reconciliations Preparing and submitting VAT returns Producing management information where required Working with cloud accounting software Resolving bookkeeping queries with clients Ensuring records are complete, accurate and kept up to date Liaising with the accounts team and other colleagues across the firm RequirementsThe ideal candidate will: Have previous bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice Possess a good understanding of VAT and bookkeeping principles Be familiar with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage Have excellent attention to detail Be organised and able to manage multiple deadlines Communicate confidently and professionally with clients Be AAT qualified, studying towards AAT or qualified by experience BenefitsThis is a great opportunity to join a supportive, well established accountancy practice offering good quality client work and long term stability.
