We are seeking a skilled Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to help improve quality of life for people with learning disabilities and autism across London and the South.
Position: Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
Location: London and South / Home-based with travel
Salary: £35,975 - £37,874 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 5 June 2026
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that may challenge.
The role will focus on implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies that create capable environments, improve wellbeing and quality of life, and reduce the use of restrictive interventions. You will work closely with services predominantly across London, with some wider travel required when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out functional assessments and behavioural analysis
Developing and implementing behavioural support plans
Supporting the development of new and existing services
Delivering training and coaching to staff teams
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals
Promoting person-centred approaches and positive outcomes
Supporting the reduction of restrictive practices
Contributing to wider PBS strategy and best practice development
You will be home based but expected to travel regularly to services and offices across London, including Deptford and Maidstone.
About You
You will have extensive experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex behavioural support needs. You will be passionate about improving outcomes and promoting high quality, person-centred support.
To succeed in the role, you will ideally have:
Experience carrying out functional assessments and behavioural analysis
Experience developing behavioural support plans
Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support approaches
Experience delivering training and supporting staff development
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence working independently and managing competing priorities
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
A relevant PBS qualification is essential, such as IABA, Tizard Centre, Welsh Centre or equivalent. A Masters level qualification is highly desirable.
Due to the travel requirements of the role, applicants will need access to their own vehicle.
All of the PBS team are registered with the UK society of behavioural analysists (SBA)
You will be supported to train to certify to become a PROACT-SCIPr-UK® instructor to deliver this approach to services.
