HGV / Plant Technician

We are currently recruiting a HGV/Plant Technician for our client, a family-owned business with a strong presence across the North West, for an experienced HGV / Plant Technician in Bolton. This is a long-term position maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and plant machinery across multiple sites. Benefits of the HGV/Plant Technician: Competitive salary aligned with your expertise Overtime paid at premium rates Company vehicle provided for Heavy Plant Fitters Company pension scheme On-site parking Reliable working hours with some flexibility for work-life balance Saturday availability 07:00 to 13:00, with overtime paid accordinglyDuties of the HGV/Plant Technician: Ensure the ongoing safety and roadworthiness of HGVs and plant machinery Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy plant equipment (e.g., crushers, excavators, dozers, dump trucks) Prepare vehicles and plant for MOT inspections Attend breakdowns and provide prompt, effective solutions Support tyre repairs and replacements Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment Keep up to date with health and safety policies and industry regulations Travel between sites as required across Bolton and the surrounding areasRequirements of the HGV/Plant Technician: Proven experience as an HGV/Plant Technician, HGV mechanic, or plant technician Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability Experience with engines, hydraulics, and drive lines Ability to strip, rebuild, and repair heavy plant machinery Experience with crushers, screeners, excavators, loaders, dozers, and dump trucks is highly desirable A valid driving licence (Category C/E preferred, but not essential) Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a teamHours and logistics: Approximate working hours: 06:00 to 18:00 or 19:00 Standard contract: 40 hours per week with some flexibilityContact Paul Martin, Automotive Recruitment Specialist at Perfect Placement covering Bolton and Greater Manchester, today to discover more about this fantastic HGV/Plant Technician opportunity.
