Job Description Senior Advocate – Fitness to Practise, Maternity Cover, 5+ Years’ Experience, London / Hybrid, £60,000–£75,000 DOE. An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Advocate to join a reputable organisation's specialist Fitness to Practise team on a 12-month fixed-term contract providing maternity cover. The role offers the opportunity to lead a team of in-house presenting officers, oversee external advocacy arrangements and undertake complex regulatory advocacy, alongside flexible hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package. Job Ref: 5441 OVERVIEW: /n The successful Senior Advocate will have a primarily managerial role, leading a team of in-house presenting officers and coordinating assignments for external advocates to ensure high-quality representation at statutory committee hearings. Alongside these responsibilities, you will undertake direct advocacy in complex cases, with occasional appearances in the High Court. You will play an important role in maintaining high professional standards across the advocacy function and supporting the effective progression of Fitness to Practise proceedings. /n Applications are welcomed from qualified Barristers with a minimum of 5 years' experience and a strong background in professional regulation or a comparable regulatory environment. You will have a proven track record in tribunal advocacy and the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, case law and regulatory guidance. Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills are essential, while experience of handling high-profile cases would be advantageous. /n This is a hybrid position requiring attendance at the London office for 1–2 days per week, with the remainder of the working week undertaken remotely.
