Design Manager

The role could be based from our Bristol or Cardiff office, focusing on projects across the region. You will be responsible to lead/manage the design process to develop a design which is compliant with all contractual & statutory requirements, using cost-effective methods. You will be involved in coordinating the delivery of the project on time, within budget, and in agreement with production/legacy team in terms of choice of methods of construction and buildability checks. Overall responsibility for:Project Design ManagementManagement of the Design Consultants Liaison between the Client, Design Consultants, and project staffLiaison with Site Manager for the development of design packages and procurement strategiesAccountabilities & Key Tasks:Manage and lead the design process across preconstruction and construction phasesOversee design consultants, ensuring compliance, buildability, and efficiency in all designsAct as the main liaison between client, consultants, project teams, and site managementCoordinate the preparation, review, and sign-off of all design documentationEnsure flow and control of design information, including compliance with Document Management ProceduresSupport the commercial and procurement teams in developing design packages and strategiesEssential Criteria:Relevant Construction or Architecture qualificationStrong background in Façade and general exterior knowledge Fire Safety designPrevious main contractor experienceExpert understanding of the Design & Build processExcellent knowledge of design process, at commercial and construction design stagesUnderstands the RIBA plan of workStrong in-depth technical knowledgeGood knowledge of planning processProven experience of managing design on numerous projects i.e. Residential, Schools, Hospitals, Student accommodationWorking knowledge of building regulationsWhy BouyguesOur teams deploy technically innovative solutions for a diverse range of challenging projects throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.  Day in day out our teams deliver some of the most technically innovative and challenging projects across the UK and the world.
