About the role
Criterion Capital is seeking a Senior Design Manager to control the design development process and the consultants teams for our commercial to hotel conversion projects.
The Design Manager will be responsible for managing the entire design process and consultant teams, ensuring that design solutions meet client and the ERs, project cost and timescale goals, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have commercial conversion experience, and rounded experience on hotel projects delivery (Fit Out, Envelope and Services).

Job Overvie
- wManage and oversee the consultant and contractor design process for our hotel conversion projects, ensuring all consultants’ designs meet the project’s functional, aesthetic, and technical requirements. Monitor the Consultants deliverables and programs for each stage
- ,Identify and recommend early involvement of specialist packages and coordinate the work of external specialist contractors and supplier
- sCollaborate closely with the project management and operations team to ensure designs are aligned with project scope, budget, and programme and the relevant information has been shared between the project tea
- mServe as the primary point of contact for all design-related matters related to the project(s), communicating effectively with clients, project managers, and construction teams
- .Facilitate design review meetings with stakeholders to present concepts, obtain feedback, and refine designs to achieve final approvals
- .Identify and Proactively address potential design challenges and risks that could impact costs, timelines, or project feasibility
- .Incorporate sustainable design principles into all projects, ensuring that designs minimize environmental impact and adhere to green building standards where applicable
- .Ensure the Consultant information format and output as well as production of all design documentation, is accurate, complete, and clea
- rSupport the construction stage by managing on behalf of the Principal Contractor all relevant duty holder proces
- sContribute to the project QA/QC processes required to be established to ensure that the agreed design is closely controlled on site

About Yo
- u:A minimum of 3 years’ industry experience in consultancy and/or design manager roles within main contract or developer busines
- s’Experience as a Design Manager or similar role, preferably in hotels, or related field
- s.Bachelor’s degree in architecture, or a related fiel
- d.Ability to manage design teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholder
- s.Experience in managing design projects within budget and to the highest quality standard
- s.Understanding of construction methods and how design choices impact project feasibility and costs and achieve compliance with current building regulation
- s. xwzovoh Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and familiarity with project management tools (Procore
