Come and join us!The Role Reporting to the Senior Director, Credit Risk, this is a GCB5 Credit Risk Manager role in the HSBC Innovation Banking UK (HINV) Wholesale Credit Risk Management (WCRM) team. The HINV WCRM team is responsible for a broad spectrum of credit activity, outside of day-to-day lending decisions. The team liaises with senior management in HINV and regional WCRM to ensure appropriate oversight of the portfolio, escalation of issues and engagement with relevant credit topics. The successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Director, Credit Risk on all aspects of WCRM.Key development benefits of this role include:Credit Risk Knowledge - comprehensive visibility across the HINV portfolio and the varied segments in which we operateBank Governance and Management - experience with the HINV risk management framework and the governance of HINV more generallySenior Exposure - exposure to HINV senior management and regional WCRM counterparts through the Credit Risk Forum and engagement on emerging credit issuesThe remit of the team is broad and varied. The specific responsibilities for this role will include:Wholesale Credit portfolio oversight, reporting and analyticsCo-ordination and preparation of materials for the HINV Credit Risk ForumExpected Credit Loss (ECL) oversight, forecasting and reportingCo-ordination and preparation of materials for the HINV Risk Impairment ForumHINV Risk Appetite setting and governanceWCRM Policy implementationCustomer Risk Rating (CRR) methodologies and local Model Risk ManagementWholesale Credit Risk Stewardship, including Risk Control Assessment (RCA), Issue Management and 1LoD Controls OversightCredit Approval Authority (CAA) co-ordination and oversightRequirements / Skills (experience)Essential:Strong credit risk management experienceDesirable:A general understanding of IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss methodologyData literacy – an ability to manipulate and understand large data sets (a pure data background is not essential)Senior engagement – experience of preparing materials and presenting to senior stakeholdersAn understanding of venture debt or funds lending (not essential but desirable)Where you’ll be based:Our home office in Finsbury Square, London.
