- £35,000 per annum Hours: 40 hours per week Holiday: 28 days (including bank holidays) Location: On-site Role Overview We are currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Wood Machinist to join a busy machine shop team within a high-quality manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision craftsmanship, understands material selection, and is passionate about producing components of the highest structural and aesthetic quality.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production output, maintaining quality standards, and helping develop less experienced team members within the workshop.
Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality, accurate machined components to specification Operate within a busy workshop environment to meet production targets Select appropriate materials to achieve optimal finish and consistency Identify and resolve design, material, and production challenges Support and mentor less experienced team members or apprentices Contribute to improvements in processes, methods, and workshop efficiency Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times Requirements Minimum of 3 years' experience in a wood machining, furniture making, or joinery workshop environment Strong understanding of materials and machining techniques Ability to work effectively in a team and support others Experience mentoring or training apprentices (or willingness to do so) Strong awareness of health & safety practices Proactive attitude with a focus on quality and continuous improvement Streamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom. xwzovoh
