- Inspect properties to identify disrepair issues and recommend solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and schedules of works for necessary repairs.
- Ensure properties meet legal and safety requirements.
- Liaise with tenants, contractors and other stakeholders regarding repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor progress of repair works to ensure timely and quality completion.
- Provide expert advice on disrepair cases to support legal processes.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, recommendations and completed works.
- Assist in resolving disputes related to housing disrepair claims.
Profile
A successful Disrepair Surveyor should have:
- Strong knowledge of housing disrepair legislation and standards.
- RICS (ideal, not mandatory)
- Experience conducting property inspections and preparing reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with tenants, contractors and legal teams.
