Engineering Teacher – Specialist Engineering School
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Engineering Teacher to join a specialist engineering school teaching students from Year 9 upwards. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers within a supportive and forward-thinking learning environment.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical Engineering lessons that develop students’ technical knowledge, creativity, and employability skills. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about STEM education and committed to helping students achieve their full academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Engineering lessons to students from Year 9 upwards, creating engaging and practical learning experiences.
*
Plan and implement an inspiring curriculum that develops technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and industry-relevant skills.
*
Support students in understanding key engineering concepts, including design, manufacturing, systems, and technology.
*
Differentiate learning effectively to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
*
Monitor and assess student progress, using data and feedback to inform planning and raise achievement.
*
Promote high standards of behaviour, professionalism, and safety within practical workshop and classroom settings.
*
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and contribute to wider STEM initiatives across the school.
*
Encourage students’ confidence, resilience, teamwork, and independence through hands-on learning opportunities.
*
Support enrichment activities, employer engagement projects, and extra-curricular opportunities linked to engineering and technology.
*
Engage in continuous professional development and contribute positively to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
*
Experience teaching Engineering, Design Technology, or a related STEM subject
*
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for technical and vocational education
*
The ability to deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
*
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
*
A commitment to supporting students’ academic achievement and personal development
*
Industry experience within engineering or manufacturing is desirable but not essential
