In-house Employment Lawyer

Employment Lawyer - In-house Counsel (6+years PQE)

We're looking for an employment lawyer with around 6+ years’ PQE to join our UK client’s in-house team reporting to the Group Head of Legal. This client is a leader in international financial services, and recognised as a great place to work, also being supportive of your long-term career development.

This role is ideally based in Southampton, but remote working and hybrid arrangements will be considered. Part time applicants can also be considered.

You can expect a busy and stimulating workload as the trusted advisor to the HR team and to the business. No two days will be the same, and for example, you'll:

• Advise on current and forthcoming employment related legislation and best practice, mitigating legal risk
• Importantly, you'll work across international locations with local counsel.
• Manage employment dispute resolution and tribunals through to completion, liaising with external lawyers
• Take on project work
• Draft employment contracts, draft or amend policies and procedures, etc.
• Be able to work with lots of autonomy, but also collegiately with members of the benefits team, HR team or broader legal team
• If you've worked in the UK and also had some experience working in another European jurisdiction, that could be a real asset.

You’ll be a qualified solicitor or barrister, and ideally have a combination of law firm experience and some in-house experience, with a core specialisation in employment law.
