SEN Teaching Assistant (Personal Care) - Chorley (PR7) Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant Location: Chorley, Lancashire (PR7) Salary: £95.00 - £115.00 per day (Weekly Pay) Contract: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (08:30 - 15:30) Status: Temporary to Permanent The Opportunity Are you a compassionate individual looking for a stable, long-term role in an SEN school in Chorley? We are seeking a General Class Teaching Assistant to support a group of pupils with complex needs. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, hands-on, and dedicated to pupil welfare. Because this is a Temp-to-Perm position, you will have the opportunity to ensure the school is the right fit for you before committing to a permanent contract. Primary Responsibilities Classroom Support: Assist the teacher in delivering sensory-based and adapted lessons for pupils with SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). Personal Care (Essential): Confidently assist pupils with daily personal care needs, including toileting, changing, and feeding. Manual Handling: Support pupils with physical disabilities using hoists or mobility aids (training provided where necessary). Behavior Management: Use de-escalation techniques to support pupils with SEMH or sensory processing needs. Requirements for the Role Location: Must be able to commute to Chorley daily for an 08:30 start. Experience: Previous experience in care, nursing, or SEN education is highly valued. Demeanor: A "can-do" attitude and a high level of empathy. Compliance: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be prepared to process a new one immediately.
