Repair Engineer

Repair Engineer (Structural / Composite) Location: Filton (minimum 60% onsite) Contract: Contract until 31/12/2026 (likely extension) Rate: Up to £52.00 per hour Umbrella / £38.88 per hour PAYE Working Pattern: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, between 7am-7pm) Clearance: BPSS (completed by the Client) IR35: Inside IR35 The Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Repair Engineer / Repair Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting in-service aircraft structural repairs.

This role focuses heavily on composite and structural wing repairs, working on complex repair solutions within a highly regulated aerospace environment.

You'll be responsible for evaluating damage, authoring repair solutions, and providing expert engineering support to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Evaluate customer requests related to structural damage on in-service aircraft Author and release Structural Repair Instructions Lead and execute repair activities within a small engineering team Provide expert structural repair support for minor and major damage cases Develop innovative repair solutions using historical repair data and technical expertise Liaise with customers and stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality repair solutions Support development of generic repair procedures to improve fleet efficiency Prepare and release approval documentation in line with Design Organisation requirements Skills & Experience Required Strong experience in aircraft structural repairs Composite repair experience (non-metallic focus preferred) Wing repair experience highly desirable (structural repair background also considered) Experience authoring repair instructions and technical documentation Knowledge of aircraft xwzovoh structures Familiarity with metallic and composite materials Understanding of non-destructive testing methods Ideally holds or has held RTE / RT3 approval A400M or A350 experience advantageous If you think this could be a new and exciting career opportunity for you and you would like to learn more or just for an initial, no-obligation conversation please contact me on or you can apply directly by following the Easy Apply link and I will contact you as soon as I receive your contact details.
